deathly hallows

so.. after almost 10hours of enforced reading and even delaying my brother's dinner today until he dragged me off to eat coz he was hungwee, i finished harry potter and the deathly hallows. i gotta say, i really enjoyed it.

and no, i'll not ruin it. i'm not as evil a person as mr. tan who ruined all my stories for me before i even touch a hard copy of it.

it's kinda dark.. loads of killing and wars and moral scruples thrown out of the window, even by our heroes but it's all justifiable so all's good.

really hoping i can find a hard copy of the american special ed coz i've no idea where to find em here and reading the ebook has given me a serious headache. bad spelling and grammar, see? and i want to finish the building of my collection toos =)

but at least i've read the book =D

anyway, it's spap's birthday tomorrow. the spap who can never remember MY birthday OR my horoscope though my birthday is exactly ONE week after his. see? terrible, right? at least i remembered, right? lolz

anyway.. happy birthday! someone getting old already! teehee

i can't see this coming birthday as a particularly enjoyable one.
oh. actually. it will. co's taking me up for skiing this weekend and my sis is coming down next week to celebrate with me. oh, and nianz gave me a box of chochies =)

invasion

see, there's this serious key shortage in my house at the moment. and since the front door needs a key to be opened and locked, the lift needs the key to be operated and all doors that might lead to the outside world needs ur key to be opened, i've been getting up at *gasp* 7am every morning to dutifully follow eng hoe down to the carpark and then troop back up to get an hour of sleep before my bro wakes up to go to work and inevitably wakes me with the noise.

not that i'm complaining. its just a background to what i AM gonna complain about next.
lol.

and. so.. today, of all days, eng hoe took a day off coz he has a job interview and since there is this keng chao security, i had to leave the apartment same time as him.. which was at 9.30, an hour and half before the start of my class. plenty of time to get to class right?
WRONG.

in all my brilliance, i left my wallet in the apartment AND i couldn't get back to get it coz of the reasons listed above and the fact that i don't actually have a key.

had to walk ALL the way to meet jien, which meant a sad 40minute walk, to borrow money so i could buy a train ticket to go to class.

am so damn hardworking right? all that trouble to go class?
at least eng hoe picked me after class so i didn't need to go through all the trouble of walking home.

anyway, am going to go watch harry potter #5 tonight. went to chadstone after class ended with eng hoe to buy tickets for the both of us and my brother and mad... and perhaps after that
a) go pancake parlour with my three 'housemates' where its pretty benefitial coz i'll get a free meal. again. lolz

b) go meet jason at crown
OR
c) follow jien go club (ZOMG! JIEN SUGGESTED GOING CLUB! LOL)

yawn. am so sleepy...
but my bed has been invaded by eng hoe. he's watching tv. sigh. LOL

les miserables =(

went to do my medical checkup today.
i'm healthy aside from slightly bad eyesight. contacts wrongly powered. shrugs. tell me something i didn't know.

doctor was extremely sweet. one of our conversations went like this..
Doc(D): and how long have u been here?
Smurf(S): (while shivering) about a week
D: oh, you poor thing! u came in at an extremely cold period. this is one of the coldest winters yet. there's forecast for hail!!
S: (looks extra miserable)
D: make sure u bundle up everyday! wear thick clothing, get leggings, get scarves..

BUT

it is an extremely miserable day.

weather super cold and its damn windy AND its raining.

walking to the HSA office, it rained. and it was so windy i had to battle through the wind while making sure no part of my body got blown away. and mind you, i live about a 40minute walk away from that damned building plus i couldn't find it so i had to look for it.

and they took a photo for my visa RIGHT after that ok! i was still shivering and miserable so my student visa photo looks so retarded. LOL.

when i was walking home, it rained again. even heavier. sighhh. i am so drenched and miserable at the moment. i can't feel my fingers anymore. or my nose. or my ears.

sigh.. hug me tight and shelter me from the rain and wind.

enrolled today, skipping classes this first week coz tutorial allocations are full and i need to do my medical checkup and my visa.

damn inefficient admin idiots.

yea, i'm angry. shrugs. i won't wrinkle. too cold for my face muscles to move. the cold is better than botox.

jien can't enrol yet coz there's some problem with the internal thingies. they. are. idiots. serious. grrrrr.

tik tik tik

fourth day in melbourne! am blogging coz vin REALLY wants me to. but actually i haven't really been up to much aside from eating and walking around. i've officially got NO MORE muffin top! teehee

anyway.. i had thai food and ying thai and icecream at some fancy named icecream place at lygon yesterday with my bro, mad and a couple of their friends. the gelati is super good!! forgot the name of the place though. it was damn cold yesterday. when we talk can see mist! lol and we were eating icecream outdoors. brr!! *shivering

anyway, went to meet jien today.. we went to check the museum (yea, u read right.. museum) out.

gold ingots mined in victoria in the 1800s.. this is like only 0.8% of the gold mined at that time and it already cost 15million! zomg! mewants!

oh, btw, there was a gold mine here and u can actually tour the gold vaults. but its kinda.. erm.. not up to expectations. boo! lol

and dark! plus there's this room which depicts the houses of the ppl who lived in the gold vaults and they have recorded sounds playing. like.. the clanging of fork and spoons, the screams of children and stuff. super creepy!

some sweets that had been preserved in that jar since the 1800s. lol. looks like sweets we eat nowadays. even has colouring and patterns and stuff. LOL

waited for ivan for some time coz he was a bit lost. lol. brr. it was super cold. damn windy just now..

mind all the pimples btw. lol. bro's com doesn't have photoshop so i can't edit myself in any way. LOL. the weather's so dry and my skin isn't used to it.. hence me bursting into a new plantation =(

an update coz vin wants me to.. (;

have internet access for a bit.
so, quick update of what i've been up to. last week in penang was chocked full of outings and events.. mum wasn't too happy that i wasn't bothering about packing and getting ready to fly but *shrugs i managed in the end..

met my friends for drinks on and off through the week:

had my farewell dinner on friday.. mum catered. love my mum so much.and i miss her too..

and then came saturday! feel so touched that all my friends came to see me off (;
even those that couldn't, all wished me luck and stuff. made me tear nia.. =(
gonna miss you all to bits

gonna miss my family loads. princess didn't want to let me go! *sobs

reached sunday morning where my bro picked me from the airport (:
i missed him too! now am living with him and madison. i like his place. its comfy.

they took me to crown yesterday but no, i did not gamble.. just walk around. super tired ok! i haven't walked around THIS much for a long time.. we walk everywhere! for hours! but not gonna become skinnier coz i still eat a lot. they feed me fattening food like steak and stuff. lolz

met jien this morning and spent the day with her touring the city as well as going to caulfield for a bit.

eating some sandwich jien and i had for lunch at myers. she forced me to finish coz she said wasting otherwise. lol.

closing of a chapter

it's been a long time since i moved to kl. yes, one and a half years in most people's books isn't a long time but really, it is.

ups and downs there were always people that stood by me.

these people of course made kl more than just bearable.. they made kl a home to me, a place i would go back to just to be able to spend some time with them. they touched my heart more than they'll ever know and provided some light in my life there..

of course my first semester there was sarah and my engineering group: alex, aqel, steven, khong, zaid, etc.

sarah, the coolest malay girl i've ever known. she's fashionable, open and best of all, fun (;
haven't hung out with her forever and i missed her badly ):

hmm.. most of the engineering dudes. they seem to be doing allright.

yina, the addition to my apartment during 2nd sem: the sassy johor girl that's always going to singapore! *meltswithjealousness.. i wanna go shop there toos!* lol
oh.. and joy's on the far right. she's ej's best mate (;

also the first time i met the first of my current group.. mr. see, the first friend i ever made. lol i can still remember him asking me where to buy our accounting text book from and then mixing with me coz according to him, i looked like a nerd that could help him do assignments

jien.. in microecons class. she sat beside me. its kinda strange we became good friends.. i hardly hung out with her last sem.. lol zomg and to imagine last sem the ONLY thing we talked about was HOW to do assignments and TIPS for exams *faints
vin and dickson.. the siblings which never attended class but somehow ended up sitting beside me in one of the few econ stats lectures they deigned to enter. lol. one of the first things vin ever said to me was to tell me how bad my eyebags are. babe, eyebags are an inevitable fact of uni life (; dickson just talked about books. and music. and that my parting looked like a ketupat.
LOL

amazing how things have changed this semester. from hanging out ALL the time, to movies, to meals and to holidays, my life has become so dependant and intertwined with you four that without vin and dickson in melb, i'm not quite sure how we're going to function. it just seems.. wrong. like a puzzle piece out of place :(

ms jien lim, the smartest and most hardworking person in my group. without her, all of us will seriously just fizzle out and die. serious! lol but she's loads of fun too (;
am so glad she's coming aus with me.. at least i have someone familiar there.. =)

ms vinny ninja/koala bear. zomg!! she's not going to aus with us *sobs* i'm gonna miss her so so much!! really, ok? she's real fun to hang out with.. always makes people laugh with her bubbly and cheerful attitude. and she's got the cutest fur rug ever (;

babe, promise u'll keep in touch ok? i had the bestest time vegging out at your house. lol. u wait, i'll be back end of the year :)

she gave me the most darling collage as a farewell present. *sobs* made me so teary eyed when i looked at it and knew that i wouldn't be able to sit around with her anymore and laugh about everything and anything.. ='(

oh, yea, i'm bwoo in her mind. she even stuck a blue butterfly! so touched ok!

dickson. lol, the dude i thought was very cool and above us mere mortals when we first met but learnt better since then. lol. great friend to have who'll go out of his way for someone.

but you are a good friend to have no matter what. you made my life in kl a whole lot more enjoyable, taking me as well as my darlings, ej and wen out. really appreciate everything u did =)

mr see, i'll see you in melbourne. yes, i promise i'd get my ass there and it's half there already, right? lol, don't forget me ok!! must remember to come up caulfield AND TAKE US OUT when you do, k? teehee

wenniez!! my ex school mate whom i lost contact with till this year. zomg, she's so boisterous and LOUD i couldnt' live without her. she makes everyday fun and we can laugh about anything. i'm gonna miss her so so much. gonna miss the times where we troop to ej's to cook then to mine to veg out.. or her randomly dropping by at my place just to chill and sleep over..
sigh.. how time flies, doesn't it?

of course, through EVERYTHING, the moving process, the lonely and stressed out periods, the almost failing and happy times, i always had my no.1 favourite housemate ej(!) with me

zomg, she's ms. fashionista, my own personal wardrobe person with all the advice about clothes and fashion i SHOULD know about. not only fashion but all those weird little facts like second life and that you can actually be a pole dancer to fill up those break times during exams. a great friend i could just sit and chill with for hours and talk about absolutely nothing, watch weird tamil movies at odd hours and wake up in the middle of the night just coz i need to print something and the printer's in her room.
all in all, one of those small of stature, jap-looking in heritage and big of heart. like. giant.

it's been a long one year six months but not long enough to spend among you people..
thank you for always being there for me, for making my life in kl enjoyable and a period of my life i'd never want to forget and can mark as fond memories i'd like to relive someday.

i know sometimes i am not the best friend to have but i'm really glad i met you people and you all took the time and effort for me.

really, am super sad to have left for that means, kl no longer is a home to me. i don't even have a place to stay there anymore. actually i do. but, it's not really my own place.. *sobs

those that touched my heart

spent my week back at kl.. actually, mostly to see vin and dickson as much as i can before i leave.. not gonna see them till december. boo. good friends are hard to come by and i know for sure the both of them are friends hard to replace.

jien and jason, i'm gonna see you in melb so i went back to see both of you but in a lesser degree X)

anyway. this post is gonna be a long one chocked full of photos (unedited ones coz i'm posting WAY too many to edit em) coz it was one busy busy week for me =)

went back on saturday. dickson picked me up and we both went back to sunway so i could pack my apartment. it kinda looks like a store room with all ej's and joy's stuff in it =(
kinda wanted to stay there coz i didn't want to trouble anyone's family but in the end, went to stay with vin and dickson for the ENTIRE week. feel so bad! i kicked aivin out of her room (not intentionally ok! i said it was ok and i could crash anywhere but she said its ok and she'd sleep with cinvin) and their parents fed me throughout the week.

actually.. i can't really remember what we did most of the week coz i have the worse short term AND long term memory ever but i think we spent that night watching house. come to think of it, we spent most nights watching house. LOL.
finished season two in a week. not bad, right?
went to watch 200pound beauty on sunday with dickson, vin, wei sheong, sat and john. its a decent movie though the star's too bimbo for my taste. beautiful, granted, but bimbo. fab voice though. can melt when she sings. headed to murni after the movie where jason came to meet us AND also proceeded to point out that my new haircut doesn't look good on me. lol. had big apple doughnuts for munchies. zomg. they are SO good *melts

we then went back home*1 (jason included) to watch movies and basically just veg out. amazing how much dewar's he can drink just for fun O_o

that's the remnants of you got served in the background. dickson went to get ice for the dewar's and so we occupied ourselves while waiting for him. lol.

monday, went back to monash to see june but she wasn't in till 3pm. having nothing to do, i went to catch surf's up with spap. zomg. the weather was so hot and i brilliantly wore a sweater sortof top. liquid smurf melted and evaporated =(
went to mage that night with vin and edmund. that's gonna be the last time i go to my geek hangout for a long long while *sobs* played ticket to ride - america, nevada falls (i think?) and some game where we've to grab totems. can't remember what its called anyway.
oohs, i love mage. gonna miss going there.

tuesday, me, jien, jason, vin and dickson went to port dickson (no pun intended, really.. teehee) SUPPOSEDLY at around 1 but by time we went to pick jien up it was 4 already. LOL. at least we reached PD in time for jien to catch her sunset.

jien then proceeded to get dunked into the sea by dickson and jason. she's pouting but looks really serene doing it. she's really at home in the sea or water. lives up to her past life of being a lobster.

went for dinner at some seafood coffeeshop where we got attacked by fireants. so painful ok!! dickson came to try to help me coz he saw me squealing in the middle of the road but got attacked instead. and like. even worse. shows that one should never try to be a hero. coz heroes die first. lol. thought that counts though.. thanks =)

food there's much cheaper than on genting. our meal that had prawns AND crabs and two other dishes equaled ONE batin fish. LOL.

went to get some burgers after that (yea, we all pigged out. am so gonna ecksplodd!)
so proud of ourselves. first time EVER we spent as a group out WITHOUT alcohol. lol. just loads of food.

headed back to kl next day. i think i went home and slept if off. hmm. wednesday's sortof a blank to me =/

went to the curve on thursday so i could buy something to wear coz we were supposed to go club that night. in the end, couldn't go club coz jason and jien couldn't make it. dickson and i didn't really feel like going coz (in my case) i didn't know anyone who was going (mostly vin's friends). so. she went maison and i stayed home to watch house.

friday afternoon we went to catch transformers. zomg. i love the movie. dickson got some holographic bookmark thingy and he let me keep it. lolz! whee~
the decepticons have cooler names and vehicles but i still like the autobots-especially bumblebee.. X)
wanted to go catch 'so you think you can dance' but as dickson and vin had some family dinner to attend, we had to ffk AGAIN. zomg. i think zhen hates us with a vengeance now...
it was kinda late by time dickson and vin got home so three of us rushed to oneU to meet jason and jien for our karaoke session at neway.

neway is so much cheaper than redbox! it was like 70+ perperson on a friday night! it was 100+ in redbox. lol. amazingly, we didn't finish our bottle of tequila. not that i think vin and i could drink anymore than we already had. bleargh. combination of tequila and lack of dinner killed me.

wanted to go back saturday but i couldn't wake dickson up. LOL. so instead, we went to sell my monitor (for a measley 20bucks *sighhhh*) and went to have a double lunch at subang parade after he woke up. see, i didn't want mcdonald's, he didn't want sushi. so followed him to eat then he followed me to eat. so weird -_-
went to walk around and he was telling me that his uncle bought the olympus fe-230 at a SALE price somewhere in parade so we went there to check it out.
after checking out most of the shops, i found a place which sold the camera for a hundred bucks less than the price his uncle paid. lol. so, me, knowing my shopping habit, bought it. it WAS the last unit there as well k! better get first before it gets sold out.. besides, i've been wanting a new digicam for like ever. teehee.

went out for lunch with the lim family on sunday (inclusive of aunt, uncle and grandma, parents, aivin, cinvin and dickson O_o makes me feel all the weirdness). their family is slightly bak kut teh crazy. we ate two bak kut teh meals consequtively!!

weather's so hot lately. went to dip my feet in an icebucket after we got back from lunch coz i was seriously overheating.

by the way, be careful of azzy k, vin and spap? i think he chews clothes.. lol i got back and was unpacking and my mum, who was helping me, asked me "ann, how come your clothes have holes in them?" -_-
and.. those holes are all kinda small.. i'd say my guess is rather spot on when i say one of the dogs chewed on them and since browney's the less hyperactive one, i blame azzy. lol. remind me to zip my suitcase the next time i go stay with ppl with hyperactive dogs. lol.

really enjoyed my week. big big thanks for vin and spap for putting up with me and entertaining me the entire week. come melb also, nxt year, k? =) it'll be nice to have our group all together again..
gonna miss you two so so much!
am so dependant on them. dunno how i'm gonna function without all my best friends in kl.. ej, wen, vin, dickson.. sigh.. super hard finding good friends and they're great friends.
(jason and jien don't get included coz as i say, i'm still gonna be seeing them in melb.. *grin)

anyway, back in pg, back to reality and my myriad of visa problems.

am off to deal with them.
